EXPECTATIONS

The string program is very much of a team effort and except for personal practice time, string playing is by the nature of the instrument, a group activity.  I expect all students to be at class unless they are absent from school.  Come prepared with music, instrument and a pencil.  You are making a commitment to attend all rehearsals and concerts.  It is important that students understand that daily practice is needed for consistent progress.  A minimum of 20 minutes per day is advised.  The rewards will be well worth the effort!   Basic musical skills can be the key to a lifetime of musical enjoyment.  Musical discipline also has a positive impact on other learning and various pursuits throughout life.
