¡Bienvenidos a la clase de Español! Welcome to the Spanish class!

My name is Magdalena Sidell and I will have the pleasure of taking your child on a journey through the exciting world of foreign language learning. I love teaching and I especially love teaching Spanish. During this year’s classes we will focus on the four key elements of proficiency in a second language:  

• reading

• listening

• speaking

• writing

In order to develop those skills, we will learn grammar concepts, vocabulary and diverse ways of communication. Students will be expected to follow directions in Spanish and use this language as much as possible in the classroom.

We will also learn about different cultures of Spanish-speaking countries, which are an important part of learning the second language. Grammar structure and vocabulary are just the instruments that we will use in order to better understand the Spanish-speaking world.

Tests, quizzes, projects, classroom participation, and homework will be included in the overall grade.

I feel that it’s crucial to keep the parents involved. So if you have any suggestions on how to help your child succeed, please let me know. I am looking forward to working with you and your child this school year!
