The Mappa Mundi is the oldest surviving Medieval map (in English) in the world.  Made around 1300 CE in Hereford, England, it is known as a "T and O" map, with Jerusalem in the center and East at the top!  It measures 158 cm by 133 cm, and over 500 drawings are superimposed on top.
